Description of problem
The paint is propelled by the spray gun in the form of filaments. Spider’s web occurs when the filaments are not dissolved in the paint film.
Causes
- Use of a cold paint which has thickened.
- Incorrect pressure.
- Very high viscosity.
- Use of the incorrect thinner
Preventive measures
- Spray at the correct temperature and viscosity.
- Use appropriate thinner.
Remedy
Reduce the air pressure and/or the viscosity until the problem disappears.
Note
Some products such as Body Schutz, polyester spray filler or textured paint need a special spray gun, which has 3.0 mm nozzle for proper application.
